Wow, Yum, Zzz

I was invited to attend some snazzy dinner down South. Well, not me personally but my parents were. Pops was too tired so I took his place and was my mom's date. These people had a NICE place. Wow. Great location too. Dinner was absolutely delicious and the desserts...need I say?
Afterwards, there was a magic show for our entertainment. When is magic ever disappointing? I even participated in an act of his.

Like I said, this family had an incredible place. And some of the stuff they had was just too cool to not snap a photo at.

This is a partial view from where we were eating, their backyard. The view on the other side is another lake as well as the neighborhood.

All in all. It was a pretty fun night. Despite the 4 hours of driving.

Ultimate Games

This week has been pretty fun. 4th of July starts off the week.  Went to the Hockessin parade then to the Jordans for a BBQ then to the Goodwins to watch the fireworks. This holiday should be celebrated every month.
This week at camp its Ultimate Games week! Its basically what the title entitles. We play games all week! Of course its been in the 90s all week. Tomorrow we're heading to Lums Pond State Park to compete against their camp and White Clay Creek's camp. Our camp is totally gonna dominate though. We decided on the team name GROUNDHOG GLADIATORS. We have groundhogs on our camp shirts so its not totally random. Our runner up name? Tiny Tiny Toaster Waffels (???). I'm glad we went with the other one. Personally I liked Children of the Corn but none of the kids got it. "Why would we be in corn!" Oh well. It'll be fun tomorrow because we counselors won't have to do much but kick back and relax.
Found this 5 ft Black Rat Snake just outside our camp building. I couldn't get any closer because apparently these guys like to jump and he had his eyes on me when I did get close.

This afternoon we did some relay races. We had frozen tshirts in buckets of water and they had to break the shirts out, wear them, run to Corlan and spin 5 times while he sprays them with the hose. I got a sweet angle with this picture here. HAHA

Here be my beautiful sign. I'm so proud of it. But its incorrect according to one camper. He looks more like a roman soldier than a gladiator...I was ready to kick her. WHO CARES! I heard her the first time, there was no reason to rub it in my face 20 times.

Hell Week

After this week I remember why I dislike children. They are annoying creatures who choose not to listen or do what you say.  If we didn't supervise them, I think they would seriously eat each other. Is it so hard to get along for a few hours each day? The weekend could not come sooner.

Outing Adventure

What a long week its been.  Going to work from 8-4:30 is brutal. But the camp this week was pretty fun. I had to drive the 15 passenger van this week with 15 passengers. It was scary. What was even more nervewracking was driving that 15 passenger van with a trailer of 8 canoes behind you on windy back roads. Geez. Glad I don't have to do that very often. The canoe trip was probably my favorite day this week. Since I was in charge I got to be in a kayak and keeper of the whistle. I felt all powerful when I had to blow the whistle. But by the end of the day I realize how much pain my left arm is in.  I was hanging up the PFDs when I realized my left arm couldn't raise the hanger anymore. So I'm wrapped up for now. But its quite possible I have a stress fracture or a buckle fracture. Unfortunately its the weekend so there's nothing I can do about it till Monday. If only the kids knew how to canoe I wouldn't have had to paddle so much so hard. At one point I had to tow a canoe behind me for quite a ways because there were spiders in their boat and one of the boys had serious arachnophobia. It was pretty funny. He would NOT sit back down until that canoe was washed out.
Here's my campers at the Delaware Rock Gym in Bear. My coworkers are in the blue. We didn't get to go rock climbing. We could have paid for a day pass but we were enjoying our naps on those comfy pads too much.

Phone Art

This is what I typically do every Sunday in church. I use a toothpick to get the detail. I think my cell is more frequently used as a sketchbook than an actual phone. I rarely keep the drawings I do because they suck but every once in a while I'll actually make something I like.
